Hello Familia!
Welcome to the Story of my Coming Home Journey
My name is Susie Genera,
Buddhist High Priestess
Medicine Woman
I often say I’ve been on a lifelong quest to “find God”—though as the years unfolded, I realized what I was truly searching for was myself.
I grew up going to church, very devoted and faithful to the teachings. After my divorce, I left the church and felt hungry to learn without the chains of dogma. I studied all the things: tarot, energy healing, intuition tools, the law of attraction—plus countless weekend seminars and retreats. About five years into that journey, I met what I can only describe as a soul-contract-level teacher, and I became a disciple in a modern-day Vajrayana Buddhist tradition.
That path taught me the power of dedicated practice, personal responsibility in all areas of life, and esoteric rituals that profoundly shaped how I see the world. It also brought me into inner terrain I wasn’t ready to face. Still, I kept pushing—until my world collapsed. Relationships, finances, my healing practice… everything fell apart.
My mind couldn’t handle what I was facing. I couldn’t keep the faith in the practices, and I broke mentally and emotionally. I entered a long season of bitterness and resentment.
To survive, I did the only thing that made sense at the time: I left town—and with that, my spiritual community.
